Focus app for Android · Free timer in your browser
Put your phone down. Grow something.
The Pagewood app is a calm focus timer that blocks distracting apps while you study and grows a tree on your journal page for every minute you stay. Finish, and it's pressed into your field journal as a numbered specimen.
Pick 50 minutes on the growth ruler, write what you'll work on and press Plant. A seed goes into today's page.
The urge arrives
Ten minutes in, your phone buzzes. You open Instagram out of habit.
It can wait
In Strict mode Pagewood covers the app with a resting page: your time left, your next stage, one tap back. Nothing to fight.
Pressed into your journal
The timer ends and your tree is grown. It's pressed into your field journal as a numbered specimen, with your minutes counted.

Instagram can wait. Your exam can't.
Most focus apps ask you to resist your phone. Pagewood takes the phone's tricks off the table. In Strict mode, any app you haven't allowed is covered by a resting page that shows your time left, your next growth stage and what you'd earn by staying.
Breathe with the ring while the urge passes, then tap Keep growing.
Apps that help you study (notes, dictionary, flashcards) stay open. Calls and texts always work.
Still in charge: hold for 3 seconds to open an app anyway. That tree becomes a stump; your minutes still count.
Pick a length on the growth ruler, write an intention ("Chemistry, chapter 4 problems") and press Plant. Timer, count-up and Pomodoro (4 × 25 with breaks). Save favourite setups as rituals; undo a start in the first 10 seconds.
Fig. 2 · Woodland
Your woodland, page by page
Every session stands in your woodland in the order you grew it. Day, week, month and all-time views show where your time went by tag, plus a focus chart and your most focused time of day. See the focus journal.
Fig. 3 · Nursery
Seeds you grow, never buy
You earn 1 seed for every focused minute and trade them in the Nursery for new species and lands. Seeds can't be bought: no gems, boosts, ads or subscriptions, and every seed is listed in a ledger you can read.
A week in the woodland
Every session stays standing.
Short sessions grow sprouts, long ones grow old-growth trees. Your woodland shows the week you actually had, one tree per session, in the order you grew them.

Kind by design. Private by architecture.
A focus app should help you, not scold you, and it has no business knowing more about you than your study time. Pagewood works fully in airplane mode with no account. If you choose to sign in, your journal syncs between your devices and is readable only by you.
Pagewood does
Strict mode by default; without the two permissions it forgives one slip and turns the tree into a stump on the second.
Gentle mode in one tap: leave the app and your tree simply pauses.
Keep stumps in your woodland, with your minutes still counted.
Offer a Night grove theme, big readable type and reduced-motion support.
Back up your journal and export sessions as CSV whenever you like.
Pagewood never
Shows ads, or sells seeds, boosts or gems.
Includes analytics SDKs or tracking.
Stores or sends which apps you open. It checks the app in front on your phone, in memory, during a Strict session only.
Locks you out of your own phone. Calls, texts and your home screen always work.
Keeps your data after you delete your account in the app.
Pagewood started as a study tool. Long, uninterrupted sessions matter more than any app feature, and the phone is the biggest thief of that time. Pagewood's job is to make the next 50 minutes easy to protect, and to show you, page by page, how much you've put in.
Pagewood is a focus timer for Android. You pick how long you want to study, and a tree grows on your journal page while you do. In Strict mode it covers distracting apps with a calm "can wait" page until your session ends.
Does Pagewood really block other apps?
Yes, on Android. Once you grant Usage access and Display over other apps, any app that isn't on your allowed list is covered during a Strict session. Calls, texts, your home screen and the apps you allow keep working.
Is Pagewood free?
Yes. Pagewood is free during early access, with no ads and no in-app purchases. A one-time unlock is planned for later; there will never be a subscription or ads.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Pagewood works fully in airplane mode and needs no account. An optional account only syncs your journal between devices, and you can delete it in the app.
Is Pagewood on iPhone?
Not yet. Pagewood is Android-only for now. Meanwhile, the free online study timer works in any browser, including on iPhone.
Does Pagewood track which apps I use?
No. During a Strict session the app checks which app is in front, on your phone and in memory only. Nothing about your other apps is stored or sent anywhere.
